About inktomd
Free file to Markdown converters built for anyone who works with AI tools — students, researchers, developers, and professionals.
Why inktomd exists
inktomd was built in 2026 to solve a simple but annoying problem.
Every time you paste a PDF, Word doc, or spreadsheet into ChatGPT or Claude, you're wasting tokens. The AI has to parse binary formatting, skip hidden metadata, and fight through markup that adds no meaning. A 10-page PDF can waste thousands of tokens on formatting alone before the model reads a single useful sentence.
The best document processing tools were either paywalled, required accounts, or sent your files to servers you couldn't verify. Adobe charged subscriptions. Most converters watermarked outputs or limited free use to a few pages.
inktomd was built on a simple premise: converting a file to Markdown costs fractions of a second of compute. There is no technical reason to charge for it or require a signup. Files should be processed and deleted immediately — not stored, not sold, not used to train anything.
So we built the tool we wished existed. Free. Instant. Private. 24 formats. No account.
24 Free Converters. No Signup. Files Never Stored.
Every converter is completely free with no file limits and no account required.

About the founder
Hadi Rizvi
Developer & Entrepreneur · Islamabad, Pakistan
inktomd was built by Hadi Rizvi, a developer and entrepreneur based in Islamabad, Pakistan. He also runs Neuorial, a B2B digital agency serving clients globally.
Hadi built inktomd because every time he shared documents with AI tools, the token waste was frustrating and obvious. The fix was simple — convert everything to Markdown first. So he built the tool publicly so anyone could use it.
The site runs on Next.js, Python FastAPI, and Google Cloud Run, keeping infrastructure costs low enough to offer everything free. The conversion engine is built on open source technology.
